— Emma Elizabeth Heald, 24, of Canton was cited with assured clear distance and license suspension after a two-car crash May 2 at 2:32 p.m. in Hanover Township on state Route 172. Another car was stopped on 172 waiting to make a left turn when Heald struck them in the rear. No injuries were reported and both cars sustained disabling damages and had to be towed from the scene.
— No charges are filed yet in an April 27 one-car accident in Elkrun Township, but the report indicated there would be after the driver is home from the hospital. The driver was traveling south on state Route 7 when they went off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, flipped over and then came to rest on the roadway. The accident happened at 2:36 p.m. and the driver had suspected serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
— Marjatta Simkins, 84, of Canfield was cited with assured clear distance after a crash in Madison Township at 3:40 p.m. April 28. A commercial semi-tractor was stopped in front of Simkins on the westbound exit ramp from US 30 to state Route 7 when she began making a right turn onto 7. She drove ahead and struck the trailer’s right side, then went off the right side of the roadway and struck the guard rail. The truck sustained some functional damage but Simkins’ car sustained disabling damage to the front bumper, grill, left front fender, left side doors, left rear fender, trunk and rear bumper and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.
— Michael Seven Stefl, 18, of East Liverpool was cited with assured clear distance after a May 2 accident. The incident happened at 3:05 p.m. in Madison Township on the US 30 westbound ramp to state Route 7. A car in front of Stefl was stopped on the ramp when Stefl failed to stop and struck the rear of that car. No injuries were reported by Stefl, the other driver or their passenger. Damages to the cars were minor and neither had to be towed away from the scene.
— Kevin K. Chumney, 64, of Beloit is charged with left of center after his pickup truck with a trailer struck another vehicle while making a left turn. The accident happened in Butler Township May 4 at 2:31 p.m. when he was headed eastbound on Georgetown Road. He began to turn left onto Valley Road when his trailer struck a car stopped southbound on that road. His truck sustained functional damage but did not have to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. The machine being towed on the trailer was not damaged in the accident.
